{Baby girls!}

First off….I just have to share my new favorite quote.  As spoken by my pregnant friend at dinner tonight.

Lissy:  So are you having any weird cravings??

Jill:  You know, not really…….it’s just that…….well……
        I used to love everything grilled.  Grilled chicken and stuff.
        But………..everything just sounds SO much better fried right now.  ”

I about died :-)   Pregnant girls make me laugh!

Ok- so now onto pictures and things.   Last week I got to hang out with these two little cuties.  Earlier last week is when I did Katie’s newborn shoot and when I knocked on the door, Sam answered the door.  I knew it was Sam, but for some reason I said, “Hey Teddy!!”   You should know that I think Sam is like 5, going on 30.   He was like, “what are you talking about, my name is Sam!!!”   It’s not as funny when I’m telling you the story.  You just had to be there to hear his voice.  He just thought it was the craziest thing that I called him the wrong name :-)   He cracks me up because he’s one of those kids that will just sit there and chat with you forever.   He had all sorts of questions about my camera and he actually took a few pictures with it.   If I’m doing shoots with kids, I usually let them look at their pictures on the camera, take pictures of their siblings if they seem intrigued with looking at my camera, etc.  I watch them when they have it, but I’m usually pretty “meh, whatever” about it.   I mean,  when I saw Owen (who is a destructive 20 month old that can’t talk and doesn’t understand the concept of being gentle) trying to pull my camera off the table…..well, yeah….then I kinda squealed and grabbed the camera real quick.  But if it’s obvious they’re just curious and if I can convince them to put the strap around their neck, well then I’ll just let them twiddle around a bit.   So, back to Sam.  I  went to the other room to grab some stuff and organize some stuff while Katie was eating and when I came back to where we were doing pictures……Sam is just full on taking pictures.  No instructions from me.  Just camera strap around his neck, snapping away and saying , “oh yeah, that’s a good one!”  after he looked at each one :-)

Needless to say,  I laughed most of the shoot.  Funny how kids tend to make things so much more entertaining :-)

Next up is Miss Brooklyn!  Brooklyn is doing my Time Flies When You’re Having fun Package and well…..Brooklyn hasn’t had fun with me for her past two shoots, ha!  :-)   I felt bad for her mom because I think she thought that I didn’t think Brooklyn was a very happy baby.   I kept reassuring her that I did NOT think brooklyn was a unhappy baby, I just don’t think she liked my camera.   Then I was also sad because I’ve just never really had a baby not like me :-(    I mean, I’m sure that if I had just hung out with Brooklyn and not busted out my gigantic camera, I’m sure we would have been just fine and she would have given me a gazillion smiles.  But sometimes it just takes them time and that’s exactly what Brooklyn needed :-)  She smiled at me as soon as I walked in the door this time.   I think Shanika (her mom) was like, “FINALLY!!!  Thank you Jesus!!”    I was so excited to meet the regular, day to day Brooklyn :-)     I always knew she would be okay with me and my camera at some point!

I know it’s past Christmas, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE all her Christmas light pictures :-)  I’m a die hard Christmas girl for life….so I’ll take Christmas pictures any month out of the year!

Ok- so I’ve had A LOT of request for the Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions.  I hadn’t planned on doing them this year, just because it was such a CRAZY fall/Christmas season.  I also have a ton of just office/business boring work that I need to catch up on in my down time.  Plus I do have a decent amount of shoots this month even though it’s an off month.  I’m still doing milestone type shoots  like newborns, 3/6/9/12 month, etc and for some reason, this January just has a fair amount.   SO…..combine all that together and I just don’t know if I should toss in Valentine’s Day Mini’s.   I just really need to get all the boring stuff caught up, done and crossed off my list.   If you absolutely need some sort of valentine’s day pictures done, then yes, let me know and we can try and get something set up later this month of early February  but if you can wait……………………………….I’ll be doing Spring Mini Sessions!!!   I would REALLY LOVE for this years Spring mini sessions to be outside, so I’ll be trying to work something out for those.   Of course most of that depends on this crazy Missouri weather, but hey……it’s supposed to be 70 degrees this Saturday so who flipping knows what it will be by May!   So just keep in mind that even though I won’t be doing Vday shoots, I will be doing Spring Shoots.  In BOTH St. Louis and Kirksville :-)
