{Sneak peeks!}

Holy smokes, I finally have some sneak peeks for some very patient clients.  I’ve been wanting to get these done for the past 4 nights, but every night I think, “I’m going to wait until tomorrows shoots are done and I’ll just post all the sneak peeks together.”    Anddddddd that’s how it went every night  until last night.  Then I had the sneak peek almost ready to go……..but then I fell asleep. 

SO…..this morning you’re finally getting them :-) 

First up is Mr. Will Hall.  Truth be told, we did his shoot a couple weeks ago, but he wasn’t feeling good and we weren’t getting any smiles out of him.  Jill had a day off later in the week and I didn’t have any shoots, so we just decided to give it a second chance.  Will was sooooo much happier and it was a success! 

These crack me up! This is when he wasn't feeling too well :-( The one on the right just makes me giggle. Just absolutely, positvely not going to smile.

Next up are the Eitel girls.  Melissa (or Mrs. Eitel to me) was actually one of my teachers in high school and I was her student aid my senior year….1st hour of my senior year was my favorite hour :-)  This is a funny side story- so I babysat her girls once (wayyyy back when) when Emily was little and Allison was just a baby…Anna wasn’t around yet.  Anyway- we were making slice-n-bake cookies for the fun of it and as we were slicin’ away, the oven started smoking……….this equals me freaking out.  I look in the oven and there is this bright glow snaking it’s way through the coils in the oven.  At this point in my life, I knew NOTHING about ovens and I thought fore sure it was going to blow up.  FREAKING OUT.  I made the kids go outside and I called my sister.  She said not to throw water on it, but instead throw flour or baking soda or something.  It was so embarrassing.  Obviously it was just burning out, but my naive little self had NO idea.  I was a mess :-)

Anyway- I could have hung out with the Eitel girls for a good 5 hours on Saturday and we probably still wouldn’t be finished talking.  They were so cute :-)  Email is 14 going on 30,  Allison was sooo into pictures and posing and Miss Anna loved coming up with new idea for pictures :-)  Thanks for being so fun, girls!  Enjoy your sneak peek!  P.S.- I wasn’t kidding when I said I was coming out to your house when it snows.   I might have 8 toddlers in tow with me- but I’ll be there.   (they have an AWESOME, GIANT sledding hill in their front yard.)

That evening it was time for the Wilson Family shoot.  The Wilson’s have 4 kids….4 younger kids……this means I need extra people and candy :-)  So I talked Molly & Allison into helping me, then I went to Wal-Mart and loaded up on my bribes.   I was so ready to go.   Turns out we didn’t really need to bribe them very much.  They did AWESOME and were soooooooooo easy!!!   Such a cute little family!!   I love all their pictures and I especially love the series I put together of Andrea & Matt :-)  I know you kinda had to be there to see how FUNNY it was trying to get a picture of just the two of them, but hopefully the series will help illustrate it for you. 

On Sunday morning I met up with Nathaniel Holte for some senior pictures.   The whole family came along, which usually doesn’t happen (no complaints here- the more the merrier in my book!), but I soon found out.  It takes the WHOLE family to get Nathaniel to show his real smile :-)   I love all the tid bits of information that pop up in photo shoots.  All the fun facts that parents blurt out about the kids to try and get them to laugh during their pictures.  Like boyfriend/girlfriend material, embarrassing stories, favorite movie quotes, impersonations, etc.  Funny stuff :-)   Nathaniel I think you did a very good job!  Enjoy your sneak peek…….

While I’ve been back in Kirksville, I’ve been working on a special project.  The special project entailed me looking through some old pictures.   On Friday night- I made my way down to the basement in order to find a few boxes of pictures to sort through.   This is when I realized something fun………..in one of our storage rooms- there is almost an entire wall/shelf thing dedicated to boxes and boxes and boxes of pictures…..and the top shelf was all bottles of wine, ha!    We don’t need no stinkin’ wine cellars, we’ve got a shelf rigged up in our storage room :-) 

Anyway- I seriously didn’t even make it through one box before I found the pictures I needed, but even in that one box I found pictures I wasn’t looking for.  Pictures that I now absolutely LOVE because they show EXACTLY where I got my talent from.  My heart has always been drawn to making sure I capture those day to day moments in my life and the people I love.  The little things that make up my life.  The moments, the smiles, the feelings, etc.  I’ve always known I get all that from my mom, but once I saw these old pictures….I’ve now realized that our minds think even more alike than I thought  :-)  

She’s just so darn cute and I can only hope that I could be like her!!   My mom is seriously the most creative, detailed orientated, make the best of it, turns junk into a beautiful masterpiece, can capture that warm/fuzzy moment over and over again type of lady.  She reminds me of Mary in It’s a Wonderful Life :-)  Actually- she’s like an exact replica of her….and her name is even Mary….how fitting, ha! 

Anyway- take a look at these pictures I scanned it.  Like I said- these were just pictures I found in ONE Of the boxes….and I didn’t even make it through that whole box.  

First up are Ballett themed pictures she took of Amanda & Allison. 

While she was taking these- I know for a fact that she had Andy & I running around and more than likely destroying the house. She's so calm and patient :-)

This is their dog, Calico :-) Her and my dad got it when they were first married. Seriously- they are the cutest couple ever. If I could post more pictures of them and all their adventures before they went off and had 8 kids- I totally would. They were ADORABLE! Maybe a blog post sometimes this winter??

This next series is from when they attempted family pictures at Baring Lake.  I love it :-)  The older girls being so good, my dad running back and forth, in and out of the picture, making sure Andy & I didn’t run off before my mom could get the picture.  Andy & I running off and then the girls looking at us and laughing.  It’s just makes me smile because I know exactly how this afternoon went and I know exactly how bad my mom wanted these pictures and I know exactly how hard my dad was trying to help her make it happen.  SO CUTE! 

See….we both love capturing “moments” :-) My dad always gives the babies in our families DumDum’s when they’re born. It’s a tradition :-) Then the other one is actually when I was born. I just love how she has the balloon, my doll, my name, my bed, etc in focus and then my dad is holding me in the background. Awwww. I bet you he’s probably saying, “you’ll always be my favorite!” hahah :-)   Actually- I think I’m screaming.  So he’s probably like, “What the hell did we get ourselves into!”  and my mom’s probably crying as well saying, “I can’t believe I have one at home who isn’t even a year yet!” 

I also found plenty of other photos that I’m going to share…………one’s that *might* be of my dad back in his beard/big hair days…..ohhhhhhhhh this is going to be fun :-)  Watch for that over the next few days- it’s going to be a good one!!!  If you know my dad and you enjoy giving him a hard time- then you will most definitely want to look at that blog post when I get it ready :-)

  3. Such awesome pictures. I knew the Wilson’s would turn out great. And I love seeing our old family pictures. Maybe not my old hair styles though. I do remember my sweater with the toe shoes on it-it was my favorite!

Lissy, what beautiful pictures, and the family ones of your parents with you kids, gosh I do remember some of these, and your Dad so tall and thin, and hey short hair then, wow this had to be crazy times, peoples think I was nuts too, all so close together, got some cute pictures, will be waiting on the other scenes, Terry still remembers Kaitlyn and Caroline, when they were little and you were staying at the Holiday Inn, after Thanksgiving and they were going to get there Christamas pic, one by one would come down to where we were and ask if this if what they were to put on for the pic, your mom just nod her head yes, and off they would go, pretty soon another would come down. we laugh every now and then about that, it is all getting repeated now, with another generation, what fun. Lissy you do such beautiful work

  6. Another great set Lis! Little Will has an adorable outfit amazing eyes! What a beautiful bunch of girls and I love how candid some of their shots are! The Wilson family photos are perfect – fun and finished all at the same time! I also love the senior shoot. He looks relaxed and happy! As for our photos…I LOVE going through those boxes. Mom really has talent and captured so many memories so beautifully!…and real! Dum dum suckers, big furry dogs, sleeping babies, and brand new babies! I have always loved the ballet set and then she went on to do charcoal drawings of them that were amazing! And the ones at Baring Lake. Our family looks small there but I know as a parent now, I would be totally overwhelmed. Then they went on and had three more! :) The tricycle shows that somethings never change because now they just have 5 more radio flyer riding toys lined up in the leaves. And and Ali and the swing…I will have to try and do that sometime!

    what if you were to create a awesome headline? I am
    not suggesting your content is not good., but suppose you added a headline to
    possibly grab people’s attention? I mean Sneak peeks!
    is kinda boring. You should glance at Yahoo’s home page and see how they create news titles to grab people to open the links.

    You might add a video or a pic or two to get readers interested about everything’ve written. In my
    opinion, it could bring your posts a little bit more interesting.
