No worries- I’m not even going to bore you with the car drama. It is the DUMBEST thing in the world and I’m so confused because some people make me feel like we should keep fighting it and some people are luke warm on the idea and then some people make me feel like it’s a lost cause. All that equals one confused/swamped/way behind/slightly emotional photographer :-)
I’ll blog more on it when I see the light at the end of the tunnel.
SO….I’m just shooting away over here in St. Louis. I have several sneak peeks that I’m SO excited to show you. One sneak peek I have to leave out though :-( There have been a few times that parents request I not put their sneak peek online, which is TOTALLY fine with me and doesn’t bother me in any way- completely understandable. But man, oh man would you guys just love the little newborn twins I got to hang out with yesterday afternoon. SO CUTE!!! I know that’s such a tease (since you guys won’t ever be able to see the pictures), but I just had to tell you. Twin newborn shoot’s are a big deal in my world- so I had to share :-)
Ok- so here are the sneak peeks you do get to see! Lot’s of families this go around. Plus you get to see thee CUTEST cake smash/1-year shoot EVER. …………but first we have this big happy family. Do you remember Jack Fox?? Do you remember the head shots I did for Meredith Davis?? Well, Meredith is Jack Fox’s aunt! So we all got together for a big family shoot last weekend at Bee Tree Park. It was SO FLIPPIN HOT- but they did awesome. After the big family shoot we busted out my vintage red car and did a mini shoot for Jack’s 9- month pictures. Um………….Jack got chubby and I LOVE IT!!! I couldn’t stop smiling at him :-) Cutest little 9-month old I’ve ever seen.
Last Sunday I busted on over to Belleville, IL to do a shoot for the Sprigg-Nothdurft family. Once again it was UNBELIEVABLY HOT. Like no wind, complete humidity, can’t breathe hot. And once again everyone still did great :-) We even got to do some fun shots on the swing set. Jen & Tom didn’t go for the typical “couple shot”….no, no, no- they wanted to be jumping off the swings, ha! You love it and it will make you laugh :-)
Then on Tuesday I ventured down to Fenton to meet the newest member of my Time Flies When You’re Having Fun Package, Miss Annie :-) Annie is at the tough 3-month stage where there is only so much you can do with them. So this is where I go with all sorts of bows and try to get a ton of facial expressions. Annie hates bows and wasn’t to crazy about hanging out with me, ha! I didn’t matter though- we still got some really cute shots. One of which is now on my list of favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. It’s the one where she’s holding her mom’s hands & closing her eyes- she totally looks like she’s thinking, “ok- I’m crossing my fingers that the crazy photographer is gone when I open my eyes!!!” But I was still there….hoovering over her, making baby noises, snapping away :-) I was able to get her attention- she just isn’t quite to the point where she thinks I’m funny. She’ll think I’m hysterical at our next shoot :-)
Next up is my new favorite shoot. Elia’s 1-year cake smash :-) We met up at The Cup in central west end, which just so happens to have a really cute alley area just to the side of it. Truth be told- that “cute alley” is part of the Chase, but there was no one there- so we went for it! After some pictures in the GORGEOUS alley- we hopped into the cupcake shop and had ourselves some cupcakes….yummmmmmmmmmmmmm. Seriously- Elia was perfect. It’s almost like she knew exactly what I wanted her to do to get those cute cake smash pictures. She even PICKED UP THE CUPCAKE with both hands and took a big bite. Then a family showed up and we couldn’t get Elia to stop flirting with all the boys- so we called it quits and just hung out :-)
On Wednesday morning I went out to St. Charles to meet up with the Franke family for some pictures on Main Street. Turns out Wednesday morning is the best time to go to Main Street…………EMPTY. I loved it! Everytime I’ve been there it’s always been so crazy, but we were like the only one’s there. Well…..other than the guy who told us we were on his property…..oops! He was actually nice about it- he didn’t tell us to leave, he just told us to be careful with the chairs because they were broken. So anyway- Luke was a rockstar, looked like he had been posing for pictures every day of his life and Lilly had the BRIGHTEST blue eyes I’ve ever seen. You are going to die when you see them. Such a cutie :-)

There you go! Now I”m off to go pack so I can head back to Kirksville after my morning shoot at Faust Park. I will be back for a whole WEEK! Sara & the kids come into town on Tuesday, Amanda & the kids come into town on Wednesday and I think Kaitlin & Owen are coming back at some point during the week. Why would I sit in St. Louis when all those babies are in Kirksville??? Of course I wouldn’t :-)

What a great go around this time! Jack Fox is adorable as a chubby little guy and the family pics are bright and cheerful! The Spriggs/Nothdurft Family shots are so much fun…they seem like they have a blast every minute of the day! Oh – I love serious little Annie and the Franke family has some cuties also. Her eyes are stunning and I love how proud he is of his superman shirt! Now – Miss Elia – I know she doesn’t know me that well but I just LOVE her!!! What a great idea on the location, tutu from newborn shoot and the intensity in her face when she is going for the cupcake as Maria is fixing her tutu! LOVE IT!!!

That baby in the pink polka dot dress has the prettiest eyes I have ever seen! Jen and Tom jumping from the swing made me laugh out loud at work, people thought I was crazy! Don’t get discouraged Liss, if you think you should keep fighting, do it. But don’t let it make you totally nuts. Its not worth it!

Awesome blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Thank you!
