{Just a couple things….}

I have a real cute sneak peek to show you, but first I want to get a couple of things off my chest……..

#1-  You know that song Truly, Madly, Deeply song by Savage Garden??  Every couple thought it was “their song” in 1997.   I always thought it was a bit over the top and dramatic.   Seriously……who want’s to bathe in the sea???  More importantly, who tells someone they want to bathe in a sea with them??  What would you do if someone walked up to you and said that??  “oh yeah- let’s go.  You’re hot!”   I think not, creeper.  Sorry- I heard that song in my car tonight and I just had to get that out there  :-)

#2- The Sedlaks are in town this weekend for a baptism, so I headed over to Ryan’s parents house this evening to get some Bella & Brady time….and to bring them some yummy McAlisters :-)   I had on boots and Bella said, “Lis, why do you have on boots?”  with the most confused look on her face.  None of this is important, I just love the fact that she now calls me “Lis”  She takes after her momma :-)  

#3-  I was exiting off I-270 today and I came to a stop, rolled down my window, looked up and lock eyes with a homeless man.  He leaned forward like he thought I was rolling down my window to give him money, but I was actually just rolling it down because it was nice out.  I never know what to do in these situations.  You never know if they really do need help, if they actually don’t need the help and just make a career off pretending to be homeless (yes people do it- google it), if they’re on drugs and you’re just feeding their habit, if they have kids who are hungry, etc, etc.  You just don’t know their story, but no matter what story it is, it’s probably a sad one.  If they are at this point in their life, either being an actual beggar, pretending to be a beggar, strung out on drugs or whatever…..if that’s what their life has come to, then I would say that’s a pretty sad story.  So do you just give them what you can give them and hope they make the right decisions??  or do you not feed into it??     Sometimes I just go with whatever gut feeling I get when I see them.   It also depends on whether or not I actually have cash on me.  Well, this time around, I just had a feeling he really needed it and I decided to give him some cash….the only problem was that the light had turned green at that point and he was one lane of traffic away from me.  I had people honking at me, he couldn’t get across because of cars, so………….I just went ahead and drove off.   I know, I know- you just decided you hate me a little bit after reading that.  Please don’t hate me- I already feel awful about it and the fact that I’m still thinking about it, shows that I can’t let it go.   I kept driving and I get to McAlisters to pick up the food.  I wait in line for a good 10 mins and then it’s finally my turn……….then this total jerk cuts in front of me and pretends he didn’t see me.   I didn’t say anything and I motioned for the girl behind the counter not to say anything.  I figured it was my karma for not giving the homeless guy money.   Lesson learned…..always chose to give, no questions asked.  Everything works out the way it’s supposed to and the right thing to do will always be to give. 

#4- Lindsay took a half day at her work today so we could have a “Prop shopping afternoon” and it was awesome!!!   Apparently, friday is the day to go out prop shopping because we cleaned up.  My car was FULL.  Like so full that Lindsay had stuff sitting on her :-)   We’ve decided we need to get a joint storage unit to put all our props in and that way we can share them.  We’re working on it :-)    Funny side note from our “prop shopping day”:  I thought she got off work at 12:00, so I thought she would get to my apartment at like 12:30.   I started working from the moment I woke up this morning, so 11:00 rolls around and I still hadn’t showered yet.   I decided to jump in the shower and get ready super quick so that I could still get a little more work in before she got here.  I was still in the shower at like 11:20 and I could hear my phone going crazy, but I figured it was just one of my sisters.  I finished up, put on a towel, ran and grabbed my phone and I just see a text from Lindsay that say’s “I’m out front.”   CHEESE & RICE!   Turns out she got off at 11:00 :-) 

#5-  I have several newborn shoots coming up in the next two months and I can hardly contain myself.  Loves me some babies :-)   I’m making some new bows for my newborn baby girls and I’m SO excited to finish them and start using them. 

#6- I’m blessed so far beyond what I deserve.  I’ve received the sweetest birthday cards and gifts all this week….people are WAY too nice to me.   I have the best family and friends :-) 

#7- Did I tell you that we are currently in the time of year when Andy & I are the same age???  We are Irish Twins and we’re not quite  a year a part (yes- this is where you can feel sorry for my mother), so from September 10th to September 26th, we’re the same age.  I LIVED for this time frame when I was little.  No more of this “I’m older than you”  crap!    It all works in my favor this year because Andy isn’t moving onto some super cool age….he’s moving onto 30….so I’m the lucky one :-)

Now I have a sneak peek for one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met!  Jennifer is adorable and even though I really only hung out with them for like an hour and a half, I could tell she has the biggest heart in the world.  She gave me a hug after her shoot- awwww :-)   I was in love with her first dress (with the black dot pattern on top) and will be picking it up from Macy’s when I get free time.   Jennifer, thanks for climbing on railings and climing through weeds.  You’re a trooper!  Susan, thank you for being the best “reflector holder person” I’ve ever worked with :-)  hahah!  Enjoy the sneak peek!

I’m going to get some more work in and then I’m off to bed.   Lindsay & I are shooting a wedding all day tomorrow and that tends to require a decent amount of energy :-)   I’ll be back on Sunday with another sneak peek for a super cute baby girl that I got to photograph this week.  I’m trying to say “photograph”  instead of “shoot”….who likes to say, “I got to shoot a cute baby girl!”   ???  It just sounds weird.  Chances are that it probably won’t stick and I’ll still say “shoot” but it’s worth a shot.
