I think everyone would agree with me when I say I don’t think I’ve ever been more ready for spring. All that snow this past winter was ridiculous :-)
Today was pretty much the best first day of Spring I’ve ever experienced. Between 75 and 80 all day….it was still 73 when i got back to St. Louis at 9:00 tonight. I LOVE IT!!!!! Although all this awesome weather had MU Campus PACKED with people out running around….and we just so happened to pick the Columns on campus for our shoots….this meant we had to get creative with trying to make sure not too many people were in the backgrounds of the pictures. They all turned out really cute- I’m excited to post their sneak peeks within the next few days.
For now- I have a sneak peek from my Saturday shoot with Miss Anna. She wasn’t sure if she liked me at first, but I think I won her over :-) Or should I say my Smarties won her over?? Whatever- I’m pretty sure she liked me at the end, so I’ll take what I can get! Thank you to Miss Molly for helping me (she’s really good at peek-a-boo) with the shoot. Enjoy your sneak peek Miss Anna James :-)
So when I got into Kirksville on Friday- I went straight to Ali & Andrew’s house to help Allison get ready for the Daddy Daughter Dance dinner. Her and Leah decided last minute that it would be cute to do a sit-down dinner for the girls and dads before they left for their big date :-) awwwwwww I ended up swinging by the house and picking up Ellie so that we could go pick up Jackson from school. He always gets excited when someone else picks him up from school as a surprise :-) Then we all went to Dairy Queen and I introduced Jackson to a Cookie Dough Blizzard, ha! I think he is in love. Once we got back to the house, I played outside with the kids, ate my ice cream in the drive way as joggers passed by and let Allison have the house to herself so that she could get stuff done :-) Ellie kept begging to get ready, so at 5:00 we finally let her get started. Molly and I were her Glam Squad while Caroline watched Lincoln and Ali finished getting everything ready.
I would have to say my favorite part of the whole day was when I asked Ellie a couple questions…..
Lissy: So what do you think your dad is going to wear to the dance?? Ellie: Probably some fancy shoes, some fancy pants, a fancy shirt and a fancy bowtie ********************************************************************** Lissy: What song do you really hope they play at your dance tonight?? Ellie: Go Tell It On The MountainShe’s so cute :-)

Now I’m back in St. Louis and the next few days are going to be crazy. I had to drop my car off at the dealership tonight so that they can start working on it early tomorrow morning. Something about the Timing Chains being replaced…I’m just thankful my car is still under warranty :-) Bad news is that they will have it for like a day and a half. I have a shoot on Tuesday, but luckily it’s at a park right across the street from me so I can walk. I have a shoot on Wednesday and then I have to head back to Kirksville for a shoot on Thursday. Between all of this I also need to get my plates renewed….and we all know how well that tends to go. Nothing with the license bureau is easy :-)
Wish me luck! More sneak peeks coming tomorrow evening or Tuesday morning for the rest of my weekend shoots. Good night!

Lissy, thank you so, so much for letting Dad & I be there for Ellie’s first dance!
Somehow, you always capture the “sweetest moments” and I feel as though I’m there…priceless!!
Thank you!

We want to start calling Andrew “fancy pants”

Thanks so much for capturing the memories Lissy. Ellie (and I) loves them. Also thanks for you help that day. Ellie told me this morning that you could have gone to the dance too but your daddy was out of town. She also asked in the next sentence, “Why do Carson’s underwear look like shorts?” You never know what you are going to get with that girl. Oh better go, Lincoln has pulled the toaster out of the cabinet and is heading over to the outlet (he can undo the rubber bands now-great)

Lissy, these pics are too cute of little Anna.
I did enjoy the daddy-daughter photos as well – both here and on facebook! I think this pre-dance dinner is like a mini-prom for mini-girls! Just too cute! Allison, you are just so talented and such a great make-a-special-memory-maker for your kids – do they know how lucky they are to have you?

Love the pictures! :)
