Not really sure where November went…. I feel like I’ve said this about the past 10 months :-)
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure where this past week went either. I did 3 shoots last Sunday (would have been 4, but one had to be rescheduled) and then drove back to Kirksville. Edited all night. Did a shoot on Monday, edited the rest of the day. Did a Newborn Shoot on Tuesday, edited the rest of the day. Had one shoot Wednesday and had to reschedule the other 2 due to the wet, cold weather. Edited the whole day Wednesday. Drove to Holts Summit on Thursday, edited the whole way there. Did Thanksgiving with my mom’s side (a wholllleeee other post to come on that. oh those Killdays :-) ) did a shoot while I was there, drove back to Kirksville and edited the whole way.
Then…… then I took a big fat break!!!! :-) We got home and my dad made pancakes (I think we were the only people eating pancakes on Thanksgiving night) and they were d e l i c i o u s.
Side note: Have I ever blogged about how I only like my dad’s pancakes??? I know, it’s weird. I’ve tried others over and over again, but they’re still just not good to me. They’re just buttermilk pancakes, but for some reason his are wayyyyy better.
ok- back on track. So we ate pancakes, I got a bunch of galleries ready to upload and then we busted out the wine & Monopoly while all my uploads slowed down the internet for the night. Yeah- when I upload (which I have been doing a TON of lately), my parents internet s l o w s wayyyyyy d o w n n n n n. I think I’ve uploaded something like 800 pictures since I’ve been back in Kirksville. Trying to catch up :-)
So on Thanksgiving night I played a very sorry game of Monopoly, drank some wine and then went on a wine run with my dad to Hy-vee :-) Actually- I had to get some stuff for an Engagement party I was attending on Friday, dad needed to get Wine for our family Thanksgiving dinner on Friday night and I like wine- so he decided to take me along. We also had to load up on Wielers Chocolate milk (a.k.a the grandkids crack- I swear they’re all addicted to it). Got home, made some cookies, edited some more, returned emails and then went to bed around 1:00 ish in order to prepare myself for the craziness that was going to be Friday.
Here is my Friday:
-Do a photo shoot at 10:00 in like 15 degree weather. -Do another photo shoot at 11:00, but at least this one was inside. -Run home to eat lunch, shower and finish decorating cookies. -Run back outside and do an engagement shoot for Erin & Matt (they will pop up later in this post) -Run back to my parents house to do a Christmas Card Shoot. -Run over to the Church to help Audrey set up for a last minute engagement party for Erin & Matt :-) -Run back to the house, upload pictures, hang out for a bit & eat a YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY Thanksgiving dinner (THANKS MOM AND DAD- YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!). -As I’m sitting at the the table eating I get a text from Audrey that says, “the hot chocolate thing is broken and it’s burning. The whole place smells!” Awesome…. I was making Peppermint Hot Chocolate for the party and come to find out, something was wrong with the outlet we used to plug the warmer thing into. Long story- no Hot Chocolate. -Run and change clothes in the dark (there was a baby sleeping in my room) :-) -Grab all my stuff and run to the Church. -Engagement Party -Clean up and go back to my parents house. -Edit & go to bed to prepare for the craziness that was going to be Saturday………… Saturday was similar to Friday. I had 4 shoots during the day and then Miss Ellie’s big 4th Birthday bash last night.Whew!!!
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO much to my friend Audrey for helping me with my Tuesday Newborn shoot. I hope the margaritas were payment enough :-) Also a BIG BIG Thank you to my dad, my brother, Zane, Andrew. They moved a couch up to the top of Andrew’s office so that people could have a place to sit while we did their shoots. They also got an old window that my great aunt had (it’s HUGE) and they moved that up to my “studio” as well. THANK YOU GUYS!!! I appreciate it :-) My dad also installed some more outlets for me and went and got an industrial like space heater for me to use up there. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Last night I was finally able to get my Sunday through Wednesday sneak peeks ready. All my shoots this week have been SO SO cute! I love them all :-) Enjoy your sneak peeks everyone!!!
Now I’m off to do 2 more shoots, drive back to St. Louis, get 11 more sneak peeks ready, do 4 shoots next week and then head off to KC on Friday for weekend shoots.
Then…..then I think I finally start my slow down. Oh it’s going to be a nice and much needed winter break :-)

Ohhhh a day in the life of Lissy is truly exhausting! Well – in the craziness you got some super cute photos. ADORABLE babies and kiddos! Love them all and the sleigh will make for some perfect Christmas cards! The Athon boys are always good for a laugh and I hope the ornament tastes yummy! They are too sweet! Nicely done!
