So…this morning I realized I didn’t tell you about some of my favorite/funniest moments of Christmas 2010
Here we go!
- As Andy is making chocolate milk for Briley & Ellie (they were both being extra sassy) I overheard him say this to them – “You girls are making it very hard for me to be nice to you…..very rude….. Very rude.”
- Carolina chewing on Ellie’s pink Underwear.
- Carson and Bella having meltdowns on the way home from the movies. I mean EPIC meltdowns. Like meltdowns that had me and my mom in tears because we were laughing so hard.
- Carson telling me (in the MOST excited voice) he went poop on the potty and wiped his bottom- then asking for a high five and fist bump
- I walked into the front room of the house and I just see Bella standing on a chair and being all sneaky. I asked her what she was doing and where the other kids were and she said (in sneaky voice, with a hint of giggles) “we’re lookin for poop.” I. have. no. idea.
- My parents open their Christmas gifts throughout the week. They usually open them at night, when the day is done and they’re in their comfy chairs with their hot tea. Sara and I were the only ones awake when they opened some the other night. If your parents are like my parents- watching them opening presents is BORING sometimes. Some nights they open all fun presents and then other nights they open boring presents….shirts…socks….slacks…..etc. Well- I can usually tell it’s going to be boring if the shape of the box is that typical “shirt box” shape. You know which one I’m talking about?? The thin, rectangular one? Well- they were opening some exceptionally boring gifts that night so when my dad went to go pick out another present, I said to him- “don’t pick that shape again”, but he thought I said “don’t pick that sh*t again” :-)
- Me finding a booger the size of a dime in my hair (ahem….I think Mr. Colton needs to own up to this incident). When those babies have colds and they bury their little snot covered faces into your neck, you’re bound to get some boogers now and then.
- Lincoln stealing small, corded appliances (the iron and hand mixer are his favorites), phones, cameras & food. Mind you he did all this in stealth mode and we never catch him until after the damage has been done.
- I walked into the kitchen to get more wine and I see all the toddlers cutting up plastic plates with scissors. I’m not talking flimsy plastic plates- I’m talking about the really thick ones that can serve as daggers if they break. Super sharp! What did I do about it??? Well….I looked at them all for a few seconds….poured my wine…..walked back into the living room….announced “your kids are playing with scissors and breaking the plastic plates!”…..and sat down on the couch :-)
- Carson being upset that Briley wouldn’t kiss Doggy. Doggy is Carson’s stuffed animal and apparently he was being all sweet and giving it kisses, he then asked Briley to give it kisses and she said (in her smoker voice) “I don’t want to give Doggy a kiss!!” and then Carson looked at me and said, “Briley won’t give Doggy kiss….that makes Doggy sad.” He then started crying and ran off to find his mom and tell her. Drama!
That isn’t even a fraction of all the funny things that happened. Those are just the ones I remembered to write down :-)

OK- onto my fun gifts! I’ll just tell you about a few of my favorites. My poor mom had NOTHING to work with. My Christmas list was horrible. Things are different now because anything that I “need” is typically for my photography and I usually just go out and get it….because when I need it, it means I need it right then and there. SO my list was filled with complete randomness, but my mom (being the awesome woman she is) remembered little things throughout the year that I said I liked and she worked with that. Let me introduce you to my newest love…………….
Yes- I now own approximately 8 pairs of red shoes, 4 of them being heals. I spotted this pair when my mom and I were shoe shopping this past year and I said something like, “ahhhh- I love these!!! I own too many red shoes- I can’t get them!” Months and months went by and I never really gave them much thought , until………there they were, sitting in my lap on Christmas morning. I was giddy and in love :-) Don’t be surprised if you see me in them at your next shoot!
I also got a gift that was tagged, “To: Aunt Lissy, From: Your crazy nieces & nephews” . They got me a cluster of Standout Mount pictures (click HERE to read about the standout product) of each family. One of the Farwell kids, one of the Bobzien kids, one of the Sedlak kids and one of Briley & Baylor. It was so cute…it made me cry :-) I just love them to pieces! I will post pictures once I figure out where I want to hang them in my apartment.
Another gift that I “got” was THIS. I have been talking about making something like this for over a year now, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. My mom found them on Etsy and ordered me one, but it got lost somewhere in the Christmas mess. I never opened it, so we think it accidentally got tossed. She’s ordering me a new one and I’m so excited!!!
It was a fun Christmas :-)

The other day me, my mom and Allison took the twins over to the “studio” , a.k.a- the unfinished top floor of my awesome brother-in-law’s office…it’s really just a place that is big, open and I can leave all my junk there. nothing fancy about it….excpet for the bottom floor….that is Andrew’s office and that’s fancy :-)
So we toted the twins over (while their mother and father packed up to head back to Dallas early the next morning) and just snapped a few quick shots. Nothing big, but I think they turned out super cute. I may or may not have given Colton some Lay’s Potato Chips in order to keep him happy. Thank you mom, Allison and Andrew for helping!!
We then tried to get pictures of Carolina in her “wide load ruffles” as her mom calls them. Amanda thinks they make her bottom look about 3 times bigger than it is and we all love it so much :-) She wasn’t really super cooperative for these last shots, but they still make me laugh. Oh Carolina- you’re just too squishy cute!
Ok- I’ll be back later (not giving a date because I can never get anything posted when I say I’m going to post it) with more fun stuff, A GIVE AWAY and some updates/changes. I’m battling some sort of cough/cold/tired/headache sickness…so that’s got me dragging a smidge.
HaPpY WeDnEsDaY!!!

What a crazy, wild, insane, and hilariously funny week!!
I love the twins pictures – Colton’s hat makes me smile! When Papa carried Colton into Midnight Mass wearing that hat I literally, laughed out loud – I haven’t laughed outloud in church since I was eight and my nieces & nephews would create some pew shaking giggles.
And does anyone else think the first picture of the twins looks like a little old couple getting ready to leave for church and he can’t find his shoes but she has her hat? Honestly, Lissy they should be sitting in that little red car of yours!! I love, love, love these!!!!!!!

Aunt Mary Carol- that is EXACTLY what I thought. Carolina just needs her purse! Ha..these were too funny. And Lissy I just love reading your blog and hearing about everybody. So fun. Thanks for posting and sharing.

all that is just too funny.
I think Carolina looks like Grandma Killday. Never seen a baby look like a grandma before…so it’s a first. And I think it’s a good first! My grandma Poepsel told me I had to call my new grandparents grandma and grandpa (I was stubborn and adamently opposed) until I met them and they just made us feel so welcome. I never ever considered them anything but grandparents after I met them, so with that said, I always smile when I see pics of Carolina.
Love the red shoes. If you have a size 8 1/2 foot, I may want to borrow. I have some pretty snazzy pink heels my family and I refer to as PHS, (I’ll let you figure that one out) that I can let you borrow.
I always wondered if Princess Di ever had to deal with boogers or poop or any of the “yucky” stuff that I now hold so dear to my heart. I’d do it all again if I could.
and Mary Carol, I need you to have a talk with Beth and Kelsey about laughing aloud in church. They apparently didn’t get the memo and that Kurth woman in front of us (don’t know her married name) and the people behind us weren’t amused. Nor was Dorothy for that matter.
Hope you get to feeling better because I look forward to your entertaining blog!
