I’m back :-)
What an exhausting weekend?!?!?! Seriously- after I typed that, I just let out a huge puff of air. You know when you’re just exhausted and you do the *puff* of air thing??
Anyway- Saturday was my birthday, but I was also shooting a wedding that day. For some dumb reason, I decided to stay up late on Friday night and work. This meant that Saturday morning came early and Saturday morning includes heading off to the YMCA to watch some little kids play some VERY entertaining games of soccer. Seriously- next time I’m bringing my camera. Do you remember when I did THIS?? I’m going to do the same thing for soccer season :-) Audrey showed up to take me out for my birthday lunch. She came with her usual birthday gift to me- lottery tickets and peanut butter cups, ha! Love it. Dan (her dad) also sent along some cantaloupe for me :-) Good call- I love cantaloupe, thanks Dan!
The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent running around with Justin, Diana and their wedding party. Their pictures turned out so cute and I”m so excited to get their sneak peek images finished so I can plaster them all over this blog and tell you what an enthusiastic groom Justin was ;-) But for now- here is a MINI sneak peek and more will come tomorrow.

After my time was up at their wedding- I tried to be all “woo hoo I want to go out for my birthday” and I was all “woo hoo” like, but no one else was. I was super tired, but I really wanted to just go hang out and have a few drinks. I’m pretty stubborn, so no matter what, I was going, ha! Luckily, I found a few that were up for going out and a few that weren’t but I totally guilted into coming out. I’m good like that sometimes :-) We walked in and I did the same thing I always do when I walk into a bar in Kirksville. I’m always complete surprised by how young everyone looks. It’s like watching 14 year olds drink.
ugh.
I think we all slowly realized how tired we were, but we still just kept getting drinks. More people showed up and eventually we ended up at Wrong Daddy’s. I’ll just say I was there for like 15 minutes and that was enough :-)
In other fun news- we ran around my parents back yard on Sunday, doing family pictures for the Taylors. Which one is your favorite?

I talked my parents into making me a Thanksgiving dinner for my birthday dinner and I have no idea how I did it. I honestly think it’s because Ali (and the baby boys) are constantly craving Turkey & Noodles and my parents always cave into my sisters pregnancy cravings :-) The whole house smelled so yummy all day and it was tough keeping Caroline away from the Turkey!
Seeing as how we were all pretty darn tired from the weekend, you can only imagine what we were like after eating a Thanksgiving feast. DEAD TO THE WORLD. Our house was like food coma central… and we hadn’t even made it to cake yet. Owen was even too lazy to go in the living room and take his bottle- he just laid on the dinning room table.
Then it was time for my CUTE CUTE CUTE present. I love it :-) It’s my new camera bag that I love even more than my first one that was stolen back in April. I guess all my stuff was stolen for a reason?? I highly doubt it was so I could get this cute new red bag, but at least something good came out of it, ha!
We made an honest attempt at eating cake, but after that, I think we were all pretty certain we were going to explode :-) Later that evening, I tried my hardest to get moving, get my stuff packed up, finish my laundry, get my car loaded, etc…..but my parents convinced me to stay the night and head home in the morning. I didn’t fight them very much on that one :-)
THANK YOU SO MUCH mom and dad for my birthday weekend!!! It was fun, delicious and exhausting…..all signs of a good weekend. Now I’m going to run 7 days this week and not just the 3 that I’m required to do for my couch to 5K thingy. The dinner was sooooooooooo worth it though!

I’m SO in need of a solid work day. No interruptions. I just need to get caught up so I can get all the things done that I want to get done. I want to get my Christmas Card special finalized and out there, I want to offer a Learn How to Use Your Camera class in Kirksville, I want to make some of the new props that I’ve been dreaming up in my mind for the past several months, I want to make new bows and hats for my newborn shoots, I want to edit all the pictures I’ve ever taken of my siblings kids to give to them on CD’s for Christmas, I want to finish editing all my weddings, I want to gather all my thoughts on changes I want to make to my business this next year, I want to get better with Facebook messages, I want to get on Pinterest more (I’ve forced myself to limit my time on that addiction), I want more time to be extra creative in my shoots, blah, blah, blah.
Someday…….someday. Things have to slow down at some point, right? :-)
Holy Smokes OWEN!!!! So cute and so many silly faces and yes – your pants look funny in that picture! Bella was thrilled to see Max and Lincoln in his hat! Love it! Love the new bag and I hope you had a great birthday minus the tiredness! Can’t wait to see the rest of the wedding. I love the mini sneak peek!

Lissy, I love reading your blog! #1 because your dad delivered my first 2 children and its just fun to keep up with him and his family! #2 because I’ve always loved taking pictures and enjoy reading various photography blogs. I’ve become the designated “family photographer” and love taking pics of my kids, nieces, and nephews, and other close family & friends. What got me is your mention of a photography class in Kirksville and I just wanted to encourage you a bit and say, “Yes! Do it!” I would be there. I have a Canon 50D and while we get along pretty well, I know there is so much more I could do with it and so much more to learn. I would learn much better by someone “showing” me rather than just reading about it. Plus I need to learn to shoot manually, and even if thats not what your class is geared toward, anything would help me to progress in my photography. So keep up the good work (love these pics of your little nephew!) and I hope to hear more about an upcoming class!
BTW, since I’m on here, can you tell me where you girls got all those cute bags you used at Disney? We are going for Christmas and it looks like one of those would come in handy! Thanks! Oh and I love your camera bag too =)
