{and they're gone……}

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. 

I never cried in front of Sara, which was my goal, but I cried in my car when we left the house and I cried in my car on my way home from Ryan’s parents house.  Just a little though. 

Since I know I’m going down there to visit/help on Tuesday- Friday, I think that lessened the blow.  It’s still just sad sitting here and knowing that they are officially out of St. Louis.  No more debating on the move, no more pushing back the move date, no more house showing, etc.   It’s done and now I’m the only one here….but I just keep telling myself they’ll be back in 2 years :-)  Then we can start our laundry days, babysitting, days at the park, dinners, lunches, shopping, walking, etc. 

ugh…now I’m crying again. 

I need to stop!  It’s not like they’re going away forever and it’s not like I’m not going to be able to see t hem.  I think it’s all the sentimental things that get me.  We, in the Early Family, are super sentimental.  We get it from our mom….it’s her fault…..its like her goal to make each and every one of us cry on Christmas with some sort of sentimental gift. 

It was their cute, old, little house.  Sara was in love with it, Ryan not so much, but he put up with and worked on it because he knew how much Sara loved it.   So leaving that house was VERY hard for Sara.  Leaving ST. Louis was VERY  hard for both of them (although Ryan is never going to admit it).  Bella knows her way around St. Louis.  She knows when they’re driving Grandma Bev & Papa Ted’s house.   I think it also makes Sara said to know that, when the kids get older, they probably won’t remember their first house in St. Louis.   Most people would be excited to be moving from a small, old house to a bigger, super nice and new house…but it’s not about the house itself, it’s about the memories that come with the house.   They’re very excited about their new house, it’s just hard to leave the memories in the old one. 

on and on and on and on. 

Anyway- I went over yesterday and spent the day with them while the movers packed up the last of the stuff. 

sometimes this crazy Missouri weather works out for the best! It's November and we were able to sit outside, no jackets, and let Bella play most of the afternoon. 77 degrees on moving day.....we'll take it!

Sassy Pant's clothes. She kept bossing the movers around (no worries- they loved it and thought she was funny) and she told them "dont take my underpants!!!!"

Can you find Brady in the picture on the right?? That's right, we stuck him in the empty utility room for his nap, ha! Bella was being super loud and theres was no where else to put him. I took this picture through the vent cover, ha!

They worked very hard on their Peter Pan themed nursery. I think Sara was sad to leave her vinyl quotes she had on the wall :-(

Then we hung out in the empty basement so Bella could Color & Brady could sleep

My friend had given me a bunch of little games for my birthday and Bella had found them all and shoved them in my purse last time I babysat. Turns out this little "fast Mad Gab" game was perfect for yesterday. I highly recommend it! It kept Sara & I entertained :-)

This was a funny moment. This is how you can tell if you take too many pictures of someone....they know all your tricks. So I'm sitting there with Bella and I made this "oh my gosh!" type of gasp in order to get Bella to look at me....with out any hesitation, she pops her head up and starts running towards me saying, "Oh my gosh theres a Monkey on your head, there's a bird, Cookie Monster is in your camera!!!!" and then she proceeded to climb all over me and smack the "monkey" off my head :-)

sooooooooo many monday afternoons spent looking out the door for Pup pups :-)

When we were finishing everything up, Ryan said, "ok you guys clean, I'll fix the blinds and let's just get out of here as soon as we can!" and just as Sara almost started crying, he immediately retracted what he just said and said, "not in a bad way though!" It was funny :-)

 They were staying their last night with Ryan’s family  because every single item in their house was packed up.  So we loaded up both cars with the last of the stuff and headed off to Ryan’s parents house.  It was kinda  a sad moment :-( 

Ryan’s parents had made a very yummy dinner for everyone-  thanks for feeding me Ted & Bev :-)  and then I said my goodbyes and left.

They took off this morning and are probably about a good 3 hours away right now.  I’m sure Sara is sad, but I’m also sure she is excited about starting this new chapter.  I mean seriously…..they’re getting a brand new & very nice house.  YOu want a super nice house without a super painful price tag????….move to Bentonville!  Everyone there is very friendly, the town itself is an awesome family town, it’s clean, it’s safe and it has everything. 

I’m pretty excited to go visit and claim my new bedroom!

I’ll start scouting out new houses for you guys in Kirkwood.  Really- two years will fly by :-)

Now I’m going to work like crazy until Tuesday!  I plan on leaving for Bentonville at 7 AM, ha! 

I have 6 shoots this weekend and a lot of editing to catch up on.  I’ll be back tomorrow with the last of my sneak peeks from last week!

P.S.- Apparently several of Sara & Ryan’ friends have offered to adpot me.   I’ll go to the highest bidder :-)

Lissy what a beautiful way you did for there departure, loved the pictures, and step by step, sad to see Sara going through the bedroom with the wall words, love that family and Bella, gosh, she is something with her expressions, and Brady and that big smile, They will do well, it takes some time, but Sara will be busy setting up home and getting it just the way she wants it. In no time she will be back time goes too fast anymore.

  9. I didn’t like this house much when they first got it because they had no furniture or TV and we sat in lawn chairs while Ryan talked about how he was sure this house had brown recluse spiders. Then over the past years it became a second home to me since we tend to in phases spend A LOT of weekends in st louis. Now that house is no longer in our family and we won’t be making trips to Dexter drive its pretty sad. I mean how lucky can you get having a dairy queen, ace hardware, and Joanns so close to you that you can walk to it! But change is good and it is what makes us appreciate what we’ve took for granted.

Thank you Lissy for capturing our first home and the whole moving process and I can’t wait for you to come see our second home. We miss you tons but we know this move might be a good thing for your career as well as Ryan’s. You will finally get to WORK without our constant interruptions! By the way, you will love how our dryer doesn’t make your laundry smell like pond water anymore!
